How can we promote future growth and development? This video presents the ILO Youth to Youth Fund, a fund designed to support young people with innovative business ideas become successful entrepreneurs. The Fund provides capacity-building support to strengthen project management skills of young entrepreneurs and start-up funds to get their project on its feet. The Fund has already contrinuted to create 1,200 jobs in West Africa with its pilot project.

At this year's SSMARt Innovation Awards (www.ssmic.com), Andrew Ault won in the category of Innovation Youth of the Year. A young entrepreneur, Andrew started his own company at the age of 16 and developed the Energy Boss unit, a patent pending technology that actively monitors and improves the power usage in one's home. The technology reduces power and kilowatt demands, while providing stabilization by storing excess energy, resulting in energy savings of 8-20%. His portfolio of work includes website and marketing projects for a variety of companies around Sault Ste. Marie. At just 17, he started AKR Global Group, his own marketing company. He has also volunteered his time at Knights of Alloy and Casata Technologies. In 2009, he ranked 5th in a citywide math contest.

The results of the cost-benefit assessment of the economic value of youth work presented in this study suggest that the public funding provided by the State for youth work services represents value for money.
BeNovative is a Training course organized by Mladiinsko Slovensko and financed by the Erasmus+ programme. 25 youth workers participated from 7 different countries. (Macedonia, Slovakia, Hungary, Portugal, Greece, Latvia and Estonia). The aim was to learn and practice the entrepreneurial skill set in order to find an inspiring activity that makes income. Further on to develop the competences of ’creativity and entrepreneurship’ through a new method called; creative recycling and new means of self-expression. Also to promote sustainability in venture creation- and management, in lifelong learning and in environmental aspects between youth workers. Last but not least to promote innovation in youth work by implementing the method of creative recycling in entrepreneurial education.
