    How can we promote future growth and development? This video presents the ILO Youth to Youth Fund, a fund designed to support young people with innovative business ideas become successful entrepreneurs. The Fund provides capacity-building support to strengthen project management skills of young entrepreneurs and start-up funds to get their project on its feet. The Fund has already contrinuted to create 1,200 jobs in West Africa with its pilot project.

    The TRTP Young Travellers Programme will take an innovative and holistic approach to working with young people from the Travelling community in a bid to address the disproportionately high levels of mental health problems experienced by the community as a whole. Using youth work approaches, this will be accomplished through operation of a Traveller-led and Traveller-specific Youth Programme focusing on Traveller leadership and Traveller mental health.   • Solving Africa’s Youth Unemployment Crisis through Innovation

    Over 600 million people under the age of 25 live in Africa, and 72% of them are unemployed or underemployed. By 2035, the International Monetary Fund estimates the number of Africans joining the labor market each year will exceed that of the rest of the world combined. To meet this demand, 18 million new jobs will have to be created each year for the next 20 years across Sub-Saharan Africa. This video tells the story of three young entrepreneurs who have created their own jobs, and also employ others in the community. Each one of these remarkable young people are providing a sustainable source of income and the opportunity for a better life, as well as the dignity that comes with work. The video was made in partnership with Mastercard Foundation.

Second Global Meeting of the Indigenous PeoplesForum at IFAD2015 In February 2015, about 40 representatives from indigenous peoples’ organizations and institutions from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean met at IFAD headquarters in Rome for the Second Global Meeting of the Indigenous Peoples’ Forum at IFAD to discuss about indigenous peoples’ food systems and sustainable livelihoods. The "Ethnic Textile Innovation: Indigenous Youth" event was held during the Forum on 12 February to present the innovative work of young stylist Daniel Syiem. Through his work, he is protecting and reviving the ethnic textiles of North-East India, contributing to the preservation of indigenous peoples’ culture, while creating income-generating opportunities for rural women and youth.

Over 600 million people under the age of 25 live in Africa, and 72% of them are unemployed or underemployed. By 2035, the International Monetary Fund estimates the number of Africans joining the labor market each year will exceed that of the rest of the world combined. To meet this demand, 18 million new jobs will have to be created each year for the next 20 years across Sub-Saharan Africa. This video tells the story of three young entrepreneurs who have created their own jobs, and also employ others in the community. Each one of these remarkable young people are providing a sustainable source of income and the opportunity for a better life, as well as the dignity that comes with work. The video was made in partnership with Mastercard Foundation.
